Traveling Chickens Visit Vashon Island

The traveling chicken left Toronto Canada and arrived on Vashon Island at the end of April.  The weather almost every day has been sunny and beautiful and the chickens have spent much time on the patio admiring the view of Puget Sound: blue water, tall green trees and occasional sailboats.  There was discussion of whether or not chickens could swim, especially ceramic chickens.   And whether or not it was better to sail on a small boat or to admire the boat from afar without the possibility of mal de mer.

The chickens will soon be on their way to Georgia to visit Glenda Coleman.

  2. Wonderful work! Love your style of painting and this piece just cracked me up. Look at them just sitting there, watching the sailboat, and discussing whether or not they can swim! They are certainly enjoying themselves!

  6. It's the arrogant stance of Mr. Gallo Azul that caught my eye. He certainly thinks he can swim! Great painting.

  9. Lovely lovely fresh colours and a very convincing feeling of sunshine. The angle and composition are very cleverly done, it makes it into a little story as they all seem to have personalities. You feel there is something going on.

  11. The Traveling Chicken and her traveling friends are recognizable even from behind. The spring light is so convincing on the travelers, the water and the boat, that I forgot I was viewing a painting when I first saw it on this blog. You have created a clever story and a beautiful painting.
